Training

Train smarter,
live better

Certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT), and the person behind Myokine on YouTube. Measured progression, honest recording, and plans people can actually finish.

I hold a Certified Personal Trainer credential from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Everything on this page rests on that certification and on my own years under a barbell — nothing else.

My aim is to help people realise their strength, live with clarity, and take action — through movement, mindset, and meaning. In practice that means unglamorous things. Learning to brace properly. Adding two and a half kilos instead of twenty. Writing down what you did so that next week is a decision rather than a guess.

Strength training is one of the most reliably useful things a person can do with three hours a week, and it is chronically undersold. I am interested in the version of it that survives a full-time job, a degree, or a night shift.

How I coach

Four principles

Dose it deliberately

Training volume behaves like anything else you can have too much of: too little does nothing, too much causes injury, and the useful window is narrower than most people think. Progressive overload, honestly recorded.

Recovery is part of the programme

Sleep and deload weeks are not optional extras appended to a plan. They are the mechanism by which the plan works at all.

Measure what you claim

If a change cannot be observed — in load, in reps, in how a set actually felt — it is a story rather than a result.

Adherence beats optimality

The best programme in the literature is worthless if it does not fit inside your week. A slightly worse plan you actually finish will outperform it every time.

Myokine · YouTube

Train smarter. Live better.

Myokine is the channel I make training videos under. A myokine is a signalling molecule muscle releases when it contracts — the tidiest available answer to why exercise does anything at all, and a decent name for a channel about doing the work rather than talking about it.

It is early: a handful of videos, a few hundred people watching. The plan is technique breakdowns and programming walk-throughs, not motivation.

What this is, and what it is not

Coaching here is fitness instruction only, delivered under a NASM Certified Personal Trainer credential. It is not healthcare. I do not give medical, pharmaceutical, nutritional, supplement, or dietary advice in this capacity, I do not treat injuries or conditions, and I do not offer it on the basis of my pharmacy studies — the two are kept deliberately separate.

If something hurts, or you have a medical condition, clear exercise with your physician first. Programming is for people who are already cleared to train.
